Scooting and Surviving!!

So in the last couple of weeks, Soluna has been starting to move around a lot more. She is now shifting into the scooting phase. She pushes her legs and slowly moves backward. She tries hard and makes the effort to reach things that are outside of her grasp. This doesn't mean its been all roses and candy. Case in point:

But she simply keeps trying and makes that effort. Never mind that me and Aya are going out of our minds wondering how we are going to keep this kid safe and without any head injuries! I am starting to think about all the places in the house that Soluna might bump into and crack her head open on. As the survivor of multiple head injuries(who would of thought), I don't want to see that happen to her. But I also do not want to stifle her abilities and not let her move around and explore. I am currently reading this book, A Nation of Wimps by Hara Estroff Marano. And one of the key tenets is that kids need to play and rough house. It helps in their brain development. I am all for making Soluna all that she can be, and from all the progress she is currently making, makes me so happy to see her figure out new things. Case in point #2.
